RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:

Authorize the Chief Executive Officer for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute an amendment no.1 to the agreement (A-15202) with Paragon Mechanical Inc. for maintenance and repair services, extending the agreement an additional two (2) year period (July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026) for a revised full term agreement term of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2026, and adding $250,000 for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $450,000.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Paragon Mechanical, Inc. (Paragon) has been providing Natividad Medical Center (NMC) with preventive maintenance and repair services on various mechanical systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units to meet the requirements of the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD). Paragon possesses expertise in the more complex HVAC components such as commercial refrigeration equipment, which includes medical grade refrigerators and medical freezers that are regulated and audited by The Joint Commission (TJC) and the state of California through Title 22 and Title 24, and variable frequency drives (VFD's), medical air compressors and medical vacuum pumps.
