RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Planning Commission:
a. Receive a report regarding the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center.
SUMMARY/DISCUSS:
At the March 27, 2024 and April 10, 2024 Planning Commission meetings, members of the public provided comment (written and verbal) to the Commission expressing concerns regarding the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center (Center) closing (Exhibit A). Specifically, members of the public requested that the County research if closure of the Center violates any permit terms, conditions or other agreements, or if the County has any ability to require the Pebble Beach Company to maintain operations as an equestrian center.
Staff has researched this matter and has not found any evidence of a County role to require the Center remain in use as an equestrian center. Staff will address the evidence and comment received at the April 24, 2024 Planning Commission meeting.
