Consider approval of the action minutes from the Alternative Energy and Environment  
Committee meeting on January 10, 2024.

a. Receive a presentation from staff and Ascent Environmental on the status of the  
Community Climate Action & Adaptation Plan and the options for moving forward;  
and,  
2.  
b. Recommend to the Board of Supervisors that the Board approve a contract with  
Ascent Environmental to prepare a “Non-Qualified” climate action plan for the County  
with CEQA thresholds; and,  
c. Provide direction to staff as needed.  
Attachments:  
a. Receive a presentation from the Monterey County Green Business Network on the  
network’s activities and importance to the County climate action; and  
b. Consider providing support for a funding request to the Board of Supervisors  
during the FY 2024-25 Budget Hearings.
