Title
a. Review application submittals for the Economic Development Committee; and,
b. Provide a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors.
Report
RECOMMENDATION:
Consider providing a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors for the following applicants:
a. Support the appointment of Janine Chicourrat to the Committee as the Tourism Sector member.
b. Support the appointment of Norman Groot to the Committee as the Agriculture sector member.
c. Support the appointment of applicant(s) to the Committee as the Climate and Clean Energy sector member; and
a. Recommend one (1) of the two (2) applicants (Catherine Stedman, Beth Fabinsky) to the Board of Supervisors; or
b. Recommend both applicants to the Board of Supervisors for selection.
d. Support the appointment of Terice Clark to the Committee as the Finance sector member.
e. Support the appointment of Janine Bouyea to the Committee as the Healthcare sector member.
f. Support the appointment of Ida Chan to the Committee as the Minority Owned Business sector member.
g. Support the appointment of Dan Ripke to the Committee as the Higher Education member.

SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of the Economic Development Committee is to advise the Board of Supervisors on appropriate economic development policies, programs, and activities to ensure a Countywide perspective in support of a diversified economy, higher paying jobs and an expanded revenue base for local government services, while preserving and protecting the County's agricultural, tourism and education economic base in collaboration with cities.
