Authorize the Chief Executive Officer for Natividad or his designee to execute renewal and amendment No. 1 to the agreement (A-14503) with Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality for on site, Joint Commission mock survey services, extending the agreement an additional one (1) year period (September 20, 2022 through September 19, 2023) for a revised full agreement term of September 20, 2019 through September 19, 2023, and adding $24,000 for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $44,000.

It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:
Authorize the Chief Executive Officer for Natividad or his designee to execute renewal and amendment No. 1 to the agreement (A-14503) with Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality for on site, Joint Commission mock survey services, extending the agreement an additional one (1) year period (September 20, 2022 through September 19, 2023) for a revised full agreement term of September 20, 2019 through September 19, 2023, and adding $24,000 for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $44,000.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality ("CIHQ") is an accreditation organization that provides on-site consulting services to hospitals for the purpose of regulatory survey readiness assessment and preparation. CIHQ is a comprehensive program that is designed to ensure a successful Joint Commission accreditation survey which is anticipated to occur at Natividad in 2023.
The CIHQ mock survey will focus on the Environment of Care standards that include Life Safety, Emergency Preparedness, and Building Safety. In addition, the mock survey will focus on the clinical aspects of a Joint Commission survey. This is a more extensive survey that will encompass Provision of Care, National Patient Safety Goals, Infection Prevention, Medication Management, Waived Testing, Performance Improvement, Information Management, and Medical Staff standards.
