c. Authorize the Director of Public Works, Facilities, and Parks to advertise the projects' "Notice to Bidders" in the Monterey County Weekly.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Adopt Plans and Special Provisions for the Cooper Road Reconstruction, Project No. 1152 to reconstruct and resurface Cooper Road from Blanco Road to State Route 183, approximately 2.9 miles;
b. Adopt Plans and Special Provisions for the Murphy Road Reconstruction, Project No. 1169 to reconstruct Murphy Road from San Juan Road to Santa Cruz County Line, approximately 0.6 mile; and
c. Authorize the Director of Public Works, Facilities, and Parks to advertise the projects'
"Notice to Bidders" in the Monterey County Weekly.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Each project, in general, consists of reconstructing the existing asphalt roadway by grinding the existing pavement and reutilizing it as road base, overlaying hot mix asphalt (HMA) concrete, clearing and grubbing, installing pavement traffic stripes and performing traffic control. The Cooper Road project will reconstruct Cooper Road from Blanco Road to State Route 183, approximately 2.9 miles. The Murphy Road project will reconstruct Murphy Road from San Juan Road to the Santa Cruz County Line, approximately six tenths (0.6) of a mile. Both projects were identified as priority projects in the Capital Improvement Plan.
