a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula for $397,040 to provide health education, congregate meals, and home-delivered meals to seniors on the Monterey Peninsula for the period July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($39,704) of the original contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula for $397,040 to provide health education, congregate meals, and home-delivered meals to seniors on the Monterey Peninsula for the period July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($39,704) of the original contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This Agreement provides congregate (group dining) and home-delivered meals to seniors living in the Monterey Peninsula area. The area includes the Monterey Peninsula/Western Region defined as Big Sur, Carmel by the Sea, Carmel Valley, Del Rey Oaks, Marina, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Sand City and Seaside. Elderly nutrition program dining sites are the Sally J. Griffin Active Living Center in Pacific Grove, the Monterey Senior Center in Monterey, and the Oldemeyer Center in Seaside.
