RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Capital Improvement Committee receive a quarterly report on Job Order Contracting from Natividad Medical Center for the period ending September 30, 2018.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On November 2, 2017, the Board of Supervisors awarded two one-year Job Order Contracts (JOC): NMC 2017-01 to Ausonio Incorporated and NMC 2017-02 to Staples Construction Company, Inc.
Exhibit A provides the status of JOC projects for the reporting period, as well as other required data including: contractor, number of contractor evaluations completed, and 50% local employment compliance information for the projects. Exhibit B provides required contractor evaluations for completed JOC projects.
Projects implemented through the JOC Program include approved projects over $100,000 listed in Natividad’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and smaller maintenance and repair projects under $100,000 that are not specifically listed in the CIP but funded through Natividad’s approved operational budget.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
Natividad Medical Center coordinated the preparation of JOCs with Contracts/Purchasing and the Auditor-Controller.
FINANCING:
The funds for these projects are in approved capital from FY 2018-19 or within NMC’s operational expense budget. A five percent (5%) License Fee for utilization of the JOC program is also payable upon the issuance of a Job Order to the Gordian Group.
