SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Monterey County has contracted with Interim, Inc. for many years to provide residential and day treatment programs, supportive housing, homeless outreach, supported education and employment services, peer navigation and community-based wellness and recovery activities that provide normalizing experiences for adults with serious mental illnesses, many of who also have co-occurring substance abuse disorders. The programs provided by Interim, Inc. have been developed in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Bureau in response to community needs identified during local planning processes. This Amendment No. 4 reflects the expansion of the Shelter Cove supportive housing and MCHOME programs serving homeless individuals struggling with mental illness, the enhancement of the Peer Partners for Health - Wellness Navigation program to include the new Transportation Coaching project, and the associated budget modifications to these programs as well as to the Assertive Community Treatment Welcoming & Engagement Team program.
