RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute Amendment No. 1 to Standard Agreement A-13961 with Mark William Stanford, Ph.D., Consultant for the provision of training services to extend the term for one (1) additional year for a revised term of July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2020 and add $19,800 for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $25,599.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Mark William Stanford, Ph.D. ("Dr. Stanford"), Consultant, has over twenty-five (25) years in behavioral science education including psychopharmacology, general psychology, clinical standards of care for substance use and co-occurring disorders, evidence-based treatments for mental health and substance use disorders, and addiction neuroscience for clinicians. Dr. Stanford is currently a clinical consultant for the California Institute of Behavioral Health Solutions, the County Behavioral Health Directors Association, and state-wide behavioral health non-profit agencies. In addition, Dr. Stanford is currently an Adjunct Professor at Cabrillo College Department of Psychology and Health Sciences teaching Physiology, Pharmacology and Psychology.

Approval of this recommended Amendment No. 1 will enable the Behavioral Health Bureau to receive American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Phase 2 training services available from Dr. Stanford.
