Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

a.                     Authorize the Agricultural Commissioner or the Commissioner’s designee to accept credit card payments from customers and charge a service fee of no more than 4% to recover the inter exchange fees associated with the acceptance of credit cards; and

b.                     Approve and authorize the Agricultural Commissioner or the Commissioner’s designee to increase credit card fees should it be determined necessary to recover costs.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The Agricultural Commissioner’s Office routinely receives payment for agricultural services and products.  Currently, only cash and checks are accepted as payment.  The ability to accept credit cards will facilitate payments and improve service to our clients. 

 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

None.

 

FINANCING:

Sufficient revenues and appropriations are available in the FY 2019-20 Recommended Budget.
