Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Agricultural Commissioner to execute, on behalf of the County of Monterey, a Standard Agreement with the State of California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) to perform work under the Exotic Pest Detection Trapping Program for a period retroactive from July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2020, in the maximum amount of $335,700.00 with payment by the CDFA to the County of Monterey; and,
b. Approve and authorize the Agricultural Commissioner, or Commissioner's designee, to sign up to three (3) Amendments to the Agreement where the Amendment does not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The State of California routinely contracts with the Monterey County Agricultural Commissioner (MCAC) to provide specific services. The MCAC will provide services for placing and servicing traps for the detection of exotic insect pests which are considered detrimental to agriculture and to the economy of California. Such pests may include Mediterranean fruit fly, Mexican fruit fly, oriental fruit fly, melon fly, gypsy moth, Japanese beetle and other invasive exotic pests.
