RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:

Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute amendment No. 3 to the agreement (A-13703) with Kit Check, Inc. for scanning equipment and web-based software to automate the pharmacy kit processing at NMC, extending the agreement an additional two (2) year period (August 15, 2020 through August 14, 2022) for a revised full agreement term of August 15, 2014 through August 14, 2022, and adding $100,000 for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $326,000.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Kit Check replaced time consuming and error prone manual processes in hospital medication handling with faster and safer automated technologies. NMC has subscribed to Kit Check since 2014.

Kit Check enables NMC to automate its pharmacy kit processing. Kit Check supplies equipment consisting of 1 scanning station, 1 RFI printer suitable for printing the Kit Check RFID labels, and 1 desktop barcode scanner which is used in conjunction with Kit Check's web-based kit processing software.

Kit Check also supplies NMC with the RFID labels and tags suitable for use with the RFID printer which come in two forms, a regular tag used on various surfaces and a metal-mount tag can be used specifically to affix to metal surfaces.

NMC wishes to extend this agreement for 2 more years and add $100,000.
