RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute Amendment No. 3 to Mental Health Services Agreement A-13309 with The Village Project, Inc., for the provision of outreach and mental health services to increase the amount by $30,000 for a new total Agreement amount not to exceed $1,657,809 for the term of October 1, 2016 through June 30, 2020.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County currently has Agreement A-13309 with The Village Project, Inc. which will expire on June 30, 2020. Monterey County Health Department, Behavioral Health Bureau has contracted with The Village Project, Inc. for the provision of mental health outreach and counseling services for Monterey County African Americans and other unserved/underserved racial and ethnic group members and their families. Referrals are received from the community, faith-based organizations, schools.

In Fiscal Year 2019-20, The Village Project, Inc. will provide mental health outreach, counseling, and after school programming services for Monterey County African American and other unserved/underserved racial, ethnic, and socio-economic individuals. Amendment No. 3 revises the scope of work by adding outreach and supportive services to mitigate circumstances that are currently and have historically greatly affected the African American community.
