Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with YWCA Monterey County for $200,000 to provide Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) program services for a term of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2022; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($20,000) of the contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This Agreement will provide community-based outreach and awareness efforts in Salinas and South Monterey County, training on issues of Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSE) for first responders and other county and community-based agencies who service this population, and specialty services for identified minors who have been victims of CSE. In addition, YWCA will partner with other CSEC program partners to plan and host an annual awareness event during Human Trafficking Awareness Month in January.

Since its inception in 2015, the Department of Social Services (DSS) has identified approximately 115 minor children who have been victimized by sex trafficking and/or exploitation.
