Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation for $745,844.00 to provide childcare services to foster your placed in family care settings, for the period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2022; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($74,584.00) of the contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Agreement with The Mexican American Opportunity Foundation provides childcare services to eligible children with an open Child Welfare case with the County of Monterey. These services support the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program in Monterey County, which is funded by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), to provide counties with the funding needed to provide childcare for foster care children placed in in-home family settings. The intention of this program is to alleviate common barriers to placing foster youth in family care settings by providing temporary childcare services and resources to assist families in identifying long-term childcare.
