RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute renewal and amendment No. 1 to the agreement with Nancy Lomeli dba Sal's Taxi for lab specimen and patient transportation services, extending the agreement an additional one (1) year period (May 31, 2020 through May 30, 2021) for a revised full agreement term of February 1, 2017 through May 30, 2021, and adding $25,000 for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $125,000.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Natividad provides Complimentary Local Transportation through Sal's taxi, which aims to ease access to medical care, promote patient safety, and comply with SB1152 discharge of homeless patients. Sal's taxi also provides time sensitive transportation of laboratory specimen and/or materials from Natividad to other laboratories and vice versa.
NMC is requesting to amend the current Agreement to extend the term to cover ongoing operational rental fees. This Renewal and Amendment No. 1 has a retroactive date of May 31, 2020 due to a delay in obtaining optimal pricing from the vendor.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of County Counsel has reviewed and approved this renewal and amendment No. 1 as to form, and the Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved as to payment provisions.
