RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Budget Committee receive a report on the Governor’s FY 2021-22 Proposed Budget.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Governor Newsom released his proposed FY 2021-22 budget on January 8, 2021. The County Administrative Office has reviewed the Governor’s Budget Summary, the Legislative Analyst’s Office (LOA) Overview of the Governor’s Budget, and the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Budget Action Bulletin for statewide perspectives. In addition, departments provided preliminary impact statements. This information has been compiled into a consolidated overview attached for your review. Also attached is a copy of the CSAC budget bulletin.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
This report incorporates preliminary budget impact statements provided by County departments and information provided by CSAC and LOA.
FINANCING:
Acceptance of this report has no fiscal impact.
