RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute Amendment No. 2 to Mental Health Services Agreement A-13918 with Aspiranet for the provision of Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) and Home Alternatives to Residential Treatment (HART) to extend the term for one (1) additional fiscal year for a revised term of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2022, and add $686,495 for Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-22, for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $2,830,980.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Aspiranet provides Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) to Monterey County children who are eligible for Medi-Cal and meet criteria for medical necessity. These services are available to children with difficult behaviors who require one-to-one assistance and who may be at risk of psychiatric hospitalization. TBS is an intensive one-to-one, face-to-face, short term outpatient treatment intervention for beneficiaries under age 21 with serious emotional disturbances (SED) who are experiencing stressful transition or life crisis and need additional short-term specific support services. Aspiranet will also continue to provide Home Alternatives to Residential Treatment (HART) services to Monterey County children who are receiving Special Education Services through their Individual Education Plan (IEP) and have been identified by their IEP teams as being at imminent risk of residential trea...
