RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve the proposed amended bylaws of the Monterey County Animal Control Program Advisory Board.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Animal Control Advisory Board ("ACPAB") was established in 1990. The ACPAB reviews and evaluates the County's animal control program needs, services, facilities, and budget; advises and assists in public information and public relations activities of County Animal Services; and reports its findings and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors through the Director of Health.

The amended bylaws contain additional clarification regarding the role of County staff as it relates to the ACPAB, and updates to the conflict of interest policy.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved the amended bylaws.

FINANCING:
Approval of this action has no impact on the County General Fund.
