RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute Agreement GOVOPS-C2006 with the California Government Operations Agency for COVID-19 vaccination grant funding to facilitate fair and equitable distribution, allocation, and administration of COVID-19 vaccine, in the amount of $350,000 for the term retroactive to May 1, 2021, through January 31, 2022; and
b. Approve non-standard risk provisions as recommended by the Director of Health.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on California's diverse populations. The California Government Operations Agency awarded the Monterey County Health Department $350,000 in one-time funding to facilitate fair and equitable distribution, allocation, and administration of the COVID-19 vaccine to those population groups that have been most impacted by COVID-19. Grant funding will be used to improve vaccination coverage among under-vaccinated demographic groups through increasing walk-up vaccination opportunities, conducting outreach to increase second dose compliance, and incentivizing key populations to get vaccinated. All funded activities must be completed by December 31, 2021.
