Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with Legal Services for Seniors for $152,468 to provide legal support services to Monterey County seniors for the period July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to the agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($15,246) of the original contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This Agreement provides legal support services including legal assistance and community education for seniors 60 years of age or older, elder abuse prevention education for professionals working with seniors, and caregiver assistance for those caring for someone 60 or over.

This contract was awarded through a formal Request for Proposal (RFP #10785) in April 2021 and allows the Department of Social Services Area Agency on Aging (AAA) to continue providing important legal support services to and on behalf of seniors in the community.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Auditor-Controller and Purchasing has reviewed and approved this agreement. County Counsel has approved the agreement as to form.

FINANCING:
