RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the California Nurses Association (CNA) Unit S for the period September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2026.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On September 27, 2022, CNA Unit S ratified a Tentative Agreement (TA) with the County of Monterey. The TA was considered and approved by the Board of Supervisors on October 4, 2022 in closed session. The full MOU is presented for formal approval action today.
The CNA Unit S MOU provides for changes to wages and benefits as presented.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
CNA Unit S members and County of Monterey staff contributed to the development of the MOU as presented.
FINANCING:
The County’s estimated cost for the term of the CNA contract is $16,333,207. Natividad and the Health Department absorbed the annualized cost of the CNA agreement in FY 2022-23. If needed, Natividad and the Health Department will request additional funding during the budget process in FY 2024/25 and FY 25/26.
