IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING COVID 19  
Based on guidance from the California Department of Public Health and the California Governor’s  
Office, in order to minimize the spread of the COVID 19 virus, please do the following:  
1. You are strongly encouraged to join the Cannabis Committee meeting via Zoom at:  
If you do not have access to a computer, you may call into the meeting and participate by calling the

2. If you choose not to attend the Cannabis Committee meeting but wish to make a comment on a  
specific agenda item, please submit your comment via email by 5:00 p.m. on the day prior to the  
meeting. Please submit your comment to Yulisa Chavarin at Chavariny1@co.monterey.ca.us. Your  
comment will be placed into the record at the meeting.  
3. If you are watching the live stream of the Cannabis Committee meeting and wish to make either a  
general public comment or a comment on a specific agenda item as it is being heard, please select the  
“raise hand” option on the Zoom screen, and your microphone will be unmuted so you can speak. To  
select the “raise hand” option, click on the ‘participants’ icon at the bottom of your Zoom screen,  
then click the “raise hand” icon next to your name.  
4. If you attend the Cannabis Committee meeting in person, you will be required to maintain  
appropriate social distancing, specifically you must maintain a 6-foot distance between yourself and  
other individuals.  
Pursuant to Governor Newsom's Executive Order No. N-25-20, some or all Supervisors may  
participate in the meeting by telephone or video conference.

Receive a Treasurer-Tax Collector memoranda update on commercial cannabis tax payments  
including quarterly payments.

a. Receive an update on the implementation of cannabis business tax payment plan agreements;  
b. Support a recommendation that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution to authorize the  
Treasurer-Tax Collector to extend the previously authorized conditional waiver of penalties  
and interest on unpaid installments of the annual commercial cannabis business tax imposed on  
cultivation activities for Fiscal Year 2022-2023, so long as the full amount due is received by  
the Treasurer-Tax Collector on or before November 30, 2023; and  
c. Support a recommendation that the Board of Supervisors resume quarterly cannabis business  
tax installments for Fiscal Year 2023-24.  
d. Provide further direction as appropriate.

a. Receive information and provide direction regarding proposed amendments to Monterey  
County Code Chapter 7.90; and

b. Direct staff to present the Cannabis Committee’s recommendation on the proposed  
amendments to Monterey County Code Chapter 7.90 to the Board of Supervisors; and  
c. Receive information related to the proposed amendments to Monterey County Code Titles  
20.67 and 21.67; and  
d. Provide further direction as appropriate.
