SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On June 15, 2026, the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Directors approved a Professional Services Agreement for the design, procurement, and installation of a TUFFBoom boat barrier system and for additional TUFFBoom parts for Nacimiento Dam. Early procurement ensures that all TUFFBoom elements are available when needed for construction sequencing and supports the Agency’s reservoir-safety commitments. The estimated cost for the buoy line materials is $640,000, including a 30-percent contingency to account for supply-chain variability and market fluctuations.

The proposed buoy line will serve as a critical public-safety barrier by establishing a clearly defined recreation boundary and preventing reserv...
