RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors authorize the Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute Renewal and Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement with Corepoint Health LLC for Software Licensing and Support Services at NMC, extending the Agreement to March 3, 2016 and adding $154,543 for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $229,666.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
In July of 2010 NMC established a contract with Corepoint Health LLC for software that provides interface connectivity to NMC's Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System, Meditech. The initial purchase included Corepoint's basic interface engine software and maintenance services.
In March of 2012 NMC purchased, through Amendment #1 to the original agreement, additional interface engine licenses to enhance NMC's connectivity to additional internal and external healthcare software systems.
This Amendment and Renewal No. 2 is for the purchase of two additional Corepoint software modules named "Outreach Manager" and "Community Exchange". The Community Exchange software module is a web-service based solution that will allow NMC to securely exchange healthcare information between external Monterey County healthcare facilities (i.e., CHOMP, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, Mee Memorial Hospital, Monterey County Health Department Clinical Services Clinics, Clinica de Salud del Valle de Salinas, etc.). The Outreach Manager software module will allow NMC to integrate, monitor, and process orders for healthcare services that are received from and issued to physicians. It should be mentioned that Amendment #1 was allowed to expire in March of 2013 due to internal communication errors at NMC - this is the reason NMC is now asking for a renewal. It should also be mentioned that maintenance was paid up to March 2014 and $16,200 of the total $154,543 will be used to pay for maintenance from March 2014 to March 2015.
Business Automobile Liability Insurance requirements are waived for this vendor under this Agreement. There is no risk or exposure regarding vehicles as all services are provided electronically.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Renewal and Amendment No. 2 as to legal form and risk provisions. The Auditor-Controller's Office has reviewed and approved this Renewal and Amendment No. 2 as to fiscal provisions. This Renewal and Amendment No. 2 was approved by Natividad Medical Center's Board of Trustees on October 4, 2013.
FINANCING:
The cost for this Renewal and Amendment No. 2 is $154,543 and is included in the Fiscal Year 2013/2014 Adopted Budget. There is no impact to the General Fund.
