RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve and authorize the Emergency Services Manager to execute a Master Agreement between the County of Monterey and the City and County of San Francisco. The term of this Agreement shall commence on December 1, 2021 and shall end at 11:59 p.m. San Francisco time on November 30, 2025.
SUMMARY:
The Office of Emergency Services (OES) is seeking authorization to execute a Master Agreement between the City and County of San Francisco and the County of Monterey as a necessary step in order for the County to participate in the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Grant Program within the Bay Area UASI Region. The term of this Agreement shall commence on December 1, 2021 and shall end at 11:59 p.m. San Francisco time on November 30, 2025.
DISCUSSION:
The Board of Supervisors will designate and authorize the Monterey County Emergency Manager to execute the Master Agreement on January 18, 2022 for the term of this Agreement from December 1, 2021 through November 30, 2025. A Master Agreement is required for Monterey County to receive UASI Grant funds from the Department of Homeland Security within the Bay Area Region.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has approved the Agreement as to legal form.
FINANCING:
This resolution has no impact on the FY2021-22 Adopted Budget.
