a. Approve Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Agreement No. A-12740 with Brown and Caldwell to allow for additional tasks associated with the completion of the 2010 General Plan Salinas River Groundwater Basin Zone 2C Study, in the amount of $462,284 for a total amount not to exceed $1,236,157, through completion of the Study; and
b. Authorize the Acting Resource Management Agency Director to execute Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Agreement No. A-12740 and future amendments to this Agreement where the amendments do not significantly alter the scope of work or change the approved Agreement amount. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Agreement No. A-12740 with Brown and Caldwell to allow for additional tasks associated with the completion of the 2010 General Plan Salinas River Groundwater Basin Zone 2C Study, in the amount of $462,284 for a total amount not to exceed $1,236,157, through completion of the Study; and
b. Authorize the Acting Resource Management Agency Director to execute Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Agreement No. A-12740 and future amendments to this Agreement where the amendments do not significantly alter the scope of work or change the approved Agreement amount.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On July 1, 2014, the Board of Supervisors approved Professional Services Agreement (PSA) No. A-12740 with Brown and Caldwell to perform the 2010 General Plan Salinas River Groundwater Basin Zone 2C Study (hereinafter, “Study”) in an amount not to exceed $773,873 for a term from July 3, 2014 through completion of the Study.
Brown and Caldwell has completed all tasks for Project 1, Near Term Assessment of the Groundwater Basin’s Health and Status. Amendment No. 1 to the PSA is necessary to include additional tasks in response to terms of the County of Monterey’s 2015 Settlement Agreement known as “Exhibit B to Settlement Agreement Other Actions” and in relation to the Study. Amendment No. 1 will increase the PSA by $462,284 for a total amount not to exceed $1,236,157.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of the County Counsel and Auditor-Controller Office have reviewed and approved Amendment No. 1 as to form and legality, and fiscal provisions, respectively.
FINANCING:
The costs associated with Amendment No. 1 will be funded by the General Liability Internal Service Fund.
