a. Authorize the Interim Chief Executive Officer for Natividad or his designee to execute an Agreement with Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford (LPCH) for Maternal Fetal Medicine Services at Natividad for an amount not to exceed $348,480 for the period September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2023; and
b. Authorize the Interim Chief Executive Officer for Natividad or his designee to execute up to three (3) future amendments to the agreement which do not significantly alter the scope of work and do not cause an increase of more than ten percent (10%) of the original cost of the agreement per each amendment.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Interim Chief Executive Officer for Natividad or his designee to execute an Agreement with Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford (LPCH) for Maternal Fetal Medicine Services at Natividad for an amount not to exceed $348,480 for the period September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2023; and
b. Authorize the Interim Chief Executive Officer for Natividad or his designee to execute up to three (3) future amendments to the agreement which do not significantly alter the scope of work and do not cause an increase of more than ten percent (10%) of the original cost of the agreement per each amendment.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Natividad offers comprehensive maternal care services including antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum care to women in Monterey County. To help reduce maternal mortality and morbidity, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist established maternal levels of care and recommends Level III maternal centers have board certified maternal fetal medicine (MFM) physicians available for consultation and management of highly complex, critically ill, or unstable maternal patients.
Natividad would like to enter into an agreement LPCH to provide the MFM services. LPCH will also provide administrative services including clinical education and review of policies and procedures related to MFM. Natividad has obtained an independent opinion of fair market value supporting the payment terms of this Agreement.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Agreement as to legal form, and the Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved as to payment provisions. The Agreement has also been reviewed and approved by Natividad’s Finance Committee and Board of Trustees.
FINANCING:
The cost for this Agreement is $348,480 of which $174,240 is included in the Fiscal Year 2021/2022 Adopted Budget. Amounts for remaining years of the Agreement will be included in those budgets as appropriate. There is no impact to the General Fund.
