RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors adopt a Resolution:
 
a. Accepting the Certificate of Completion for construction of the Carmel Valley Road Overlay, Contract No. 11-141165, performed by Granite Construction Company, and
b. Authorizing the Acting Director of Public Works to execute and record the Notice of Completion for the Carmel Valley Road Overlay, Contract No. 11-141165 performed by Granite Construction Company.
 
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On August 30, 2011, the Board of Supervisors awarded a contract to Granite Construction Company for construction of the Carmel Valley Road Overlay, Contract No. 11-141165.  The contract is complete in all respects in accordance with the plans and specifications.  The work which included hot mix asphalt overlay, pavement delineation, adjustment of frame and cover to grade, is ready to be accepted by the Board of Supervisors.
 
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
None.
 
FINANCING:
There is no financial impact to the General Fund.  The total cost of the project, including project management, engineering, and construction, is estimated at $1,807,686 and is fully funded by Proposition 1B.  The construction phase is complete.  The Department is requesting certification of completion for construction.
