RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

a. Approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute a retroactive Standard Agreement between Dynamic Press Inc., and the County of Monterey for printing services for WeatherTech® Raceway at Laguna Seca with a term beginning April 10, 2022, through December 31, 2023, for an amount not to exceed of $30,000;

b. Approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute up to three (3) future amendments to the Standard Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed ten percent (10%), or $3,000, of the agreement amount and do not significantly change the scope of work, subject to County Counsel approval.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

A full-service printing company, Dynamic Press, Inc. (Dynamic) has been serving Santa Cruz County and beyond since 1996, and a green business since 2009, helping to create a sustainable environment for tomorrow.  Dynamic has been a provider of print collateral at Laguna Seca Recreation Area and WeatherTech® Raceway at Laguna Seca for over 15 years and always provides a quality product at a competitive price.

 

Staff requests that the Board of Supervisors approve this retroactive agreement for the term beginning April 10, 2022, through December 31, 2023, for a total value not to exceed $30,000.

 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The Office of County Counsel and Auditor-Controller’s Office reviewed and approved the proposed retroactive Agreement as to form and fiscal provisions, respectively. The office of Risk Management reviewed and approved the insurance coverage and limits.

 

 

FINANCING:

The cost of the contracted services provided by Dynamic Press Inc., is not to exceed $30,000.00 for the duration of the Agreement.  These fees were sufficiently covered by the Fiscal Year 2022 budget in Fund 453, Unit 8536, Appropriation Unit CAO046. The remaining fees will also be sufficiently covered in the Fiscal Years 2023 and 2024 budgets in Fund 453, Unit 8579, Appropriation Unit PFP067.

 

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:

This agreement supports the Board of Supervisors Strategic Initiatives by using a locally based company to produce high quality print materials in support of the administrative and marketing outreach of WeatherTech ® Raceway at Laguna Seca to attract both attendees and participants to events held at the facility.
