SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On April 10, 2012, the Board of Supervisors awarded a contract to Valley Slurry Seal Company for construction of the Slurry Seal 2012 Project, Contract No. 12-551222 (Project) in the total amount of $379,280.64.  The Project consisted of application of slurry mix coating on aged asphalt concrete roads around Bolsa Nueva Subdivision (Oak Hills), Toro Hills Estate (Portola Area), selected CSA 25 facilities, and a change order for the Carmel River State Beach parking lot.  Total contract costs were less than the amount awarded as roads around Country Meadows Subdivision were deleted from the contract items due to lack of funds for the required preparatory work for the area.  The contract is now complete in all respects in accordance with the Plans and Special Provisions.  The work is ready to be accepted by the Board.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
None.

FINANCING:
There is no impact to the General Fund.  The total project cost, including project management, engineering, and construction was $430,710.  The Project was funded by $427,212 General Fund contribution to the Road Fund and CSA 25 provided $3,498.
