a. Approve and authorize the Chief Information Officer to execute a non-standard Agreement with Mimomax Wireless Incorporated in the maximum amount of $75,000 for the period of February 14, 2023, through June 30, 2026, to provide products, services, support, and training on microwave and related equipment at County radio communications sites; and
b. Approve and authorize the Chief Information Officer, or his designee, to execute order confirmations and such documents as are necessary to implement the agreement for related services and equipment; and
c. Approve non-standard agreement terms as recommended by the Chief Information Officer; and
d. Authorize the Chief Information Officer to sign up to two (2) amendments to this Agreement, which extend services by one (1) year each, where any increased costs do not exceed 10% of the cost of the prior year, subject to County Counsel review, and provided that the terms and conditions of the agreement remain substantially the same.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Chief Information Officer to execute a non-standard Agreement with Mimomax Wireless Incorporated in the maximum amount of $75,000, for the period of February 14, 2023, through June 30, 2026, to provide products, services, support, and training on microwave and related equipment at County radio communications sites; and

SUMMARY:
Mimomax Wireless Inc. offers Point to Point/MultiPoint Radio equipment, accessories, and antennas for microwaves. They also provide services that support infrastructures and linking of the point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations to support public safety agencies. Their radio technology offers solutions designed to give full visibility and control over network platforms.
DISCUSSION:
The Information Technology Department (ITD) utilizes microwave radio systems throughout Monterey County to link two-way radio systems to the 9-1-1 dispatch center. In order to ensure availability and ongoing maintenance of these systems, the County requires vendor support for troubleshooting, repair services, and training for radio technicians.
The Chief Information Officer recommends entering into an agreement with Mimomax Wireless Incorporated for products, services, support, and training on microwave and related equipment to continue to upgrade deficiencies identified in the infrastructure assessment.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this agreement.
FINANCING:
Funds required for FY 2022-23 have been included in the FY 2022-23 Adopted Budget for the Information Technology Department, ITD 1930, Appropriations Unit INF002. Transactions relating to future fiscal years will be included in each respective Recommended Budget based upon the anticipated utilization of the services.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
The recommended Agreement for microwave products, services, support, and training will ensure the current and future availability of public safety communications infrastructure throughout Monterey County.
