Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors: 

a. Approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute a retroactive Standard Agreement between ADA Lift Rentals of America, LLC, and the County of Monterey for ADA Elevator Lift and Services for WeatherTech® Raceway at Laguna Seca with a term beginning May 9, 2024 through December 31, 2024, for an amount not to exceed of $60,000;

b. Approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute up to 3 future amendments to the Standard Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10%, or $6,000 of the agreement amount and do not significantly change the scope of work, subject to County Counsel approval for a total aggregate amount of $66,000.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

With nearly 10 years of experience in the industry, ADA Lift Rentals of America, LLC (ADA Lift Rentals) has been providing portable wheelchair lifts to WeatherTech® Raceway Laguna Seca (WRLS) events since 2021.  Their lifts comply with national ADA standards for safety and are a necessary component to ensure our podiums provide accessibility to people with disabilities or mobility issues.

Staff is hereby requesting the Board of Supervisors to approve this retroactive agreement for the term beginning May 9, 2024, through December 31, 2024, for an aggregate total not to exceed value of $66,000.

 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The Office of County Counsel and Auditor-Controller’s Office reviewed and approved the proposed Agreement as to form and fiscal provisions, respectively. The office of Risk Management reviewed and approved the insurance coverage and limits.

 

 

FINANCING:

The cost of the contracted services provided by ADA Lift Rentals of America, LLC, is not to exceed $60,000 for the duration of the Agreement.  These fees are included in the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Adopted Budget and in the FY 2024-2025 Recommended Budget in Fund 453, Budget Unit 8579, Appropriation Unit PFP067 for Laguna Seca Recreation Area.
