a. Authorize the Chief Executive Officer for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. (WKH) Order No. 650436 for continued services for nursing education online tools, subscriptions, licenses, and maintenance support services at NMC, applying the terms and conditions of the parties’ Master Subscription Agreement (A-14570) and extending the Agreement for an additional two (2) year term (December 10, 2023 through December 9, 2025) for a revised full agreement term of December 10, 2019 through December 9, 2025, and adding $218,177 for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $422,959; and
b. Authorize the Chief Executive Officer for NMC or his designee to execute up to (2) future add-on orders or service orders which do not significantly alter the scope of work and each of which does not exceed 14.6% ($30,000) of the original cost of the Agreement, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $482,959.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Chief Executive Officer for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. (WKH) Order No. 650436 for continued services for nursing education online tools, subscriptions, licenses, and maintenance support services at NMC, applying the terms and conditions of the parties’ Master Subscription Agreement (A-14570) and extending the Agreement for an additional two (2) year term (December 10, 2023 through December 9, 2025) for a revised full agreement term of December 10, 2019 through December 9, 2025, and adding $218,177 for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $422,959; and
b. SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Lippincott programs offered by WKH are accepted as expert resources for clinical practice nationwide. Lippincott Procedures is a web-based, go-to source for step-by-step procedure guidelines to assist clinicians with the most current evidence-based practice and procedures. This includes over 1,700 procedures and skills for nursing, respiratory therapy and physical therapy that support safe and standardized delivery of patient care. It is a regulatory requirement that we provide current evidence-based resources for staff.
Lippincott Learning and Blended Learning are online, evidence-based, staff education and competency validation tools. They include 370 plus evidence-based online courses. Some of which offer continuing nursing education credits. The material includes courses developed in partnership with Joint Commission Resources. Courses are easily assigned for training and completion is electronically tracked.
The library includes customizable, evidence-based, online lessons that support instructor led training. These courses will be used in orientation, unit-based clinical practice training, remediation, and validating clinical competency.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Order No. 650436 as to form, and the Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved as to payment provisions. The Order No. 650436 has also been reviewed and approved by NMC’s Finance Committee and by its Board of Trustees on November 9, 2023.
FINANCING:
The cost for this Order No. 650436 is $218,177 which $69,893 is included in the FY 2023-24 Adopted Budget. Amounts for the remaining will be included in those budgets as appropriate.

NMC is dedicated to providing the best possible patient care to the people of Monterey County. It is critical that NMC staff have access to high-quality, evidence-based Nursing Education resources to continue delivering high-quality and safe patient care, which improves the health and quality of life for patients and their families.
