Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute a one (1) year Facility Use Agreement (June 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021) with Sun Street Centers to permit the Monterey County Health Department Behavioral Health Bureau the use of one (1) office space on Sun Street Centers’ premises for the provision of mental health services for youth and adult residents of Monterey County at no cost to the County;  and

b.  Approve the non-standard risk provisions; and

c.  Authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute up to three (3) future amendments to this Agreement where the amendments do not significantly alter the scope of work.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The residents of the South Monterey County region have growing needs for bilingual mental health programs and services for individuals and families.  Sun Street Centers provides outpatient and residential addiction treatment services as well as treatment of dual diagnoses to support youth, adults, and their families in their recovery. The proposed Facility Use Agreement (“Agreement”) between the County and Sun Street Centers will provide the Monterey County Health Department Behavioral Health Bureau (“MCBH”) the use of one (1) private office space on Sun Street Centers’ premises located at 641 Broadway Street in King City, CA.  MCBH will provide supportive bilingual mental health assessment services to youth and adult residents of Monterey County for the benefit of the South County community.

 

The Agreement contains a termination clause by either party upon a thirty (30)-day advance notice (Section 2.0 Term).

 

This work supports the following Monterey County Health Department 2018-2022 Strategic Plan initiative: 3. Ensure access to culturally and linguistically appropriate, customer-friendly, quality health services.  It also supports one of the ten essential public health services, specifically: 7. Link people to needed personal health services and assure the provisions of health care when otherwise unavailable.

 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The Office of the County Counsel, the Auditor Controller, and Risk Management have reviewed and approved the Agreement. 

 

FINANCING:

There are no fiscal provisions included in this Agreement.
