a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services or designee to sign an agreement with Honeywell International Inc. for preventative maintenance, repair and maintenance services for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) equipment and systems and Honeywell Enterprise Building Integrator (EBI) equipment and systems for Monterey County Department of Social Services 1281 Broadway, Seaside facility for the period of March 1, 2026 through February 28, 2027, in the amount of $40,000 including nonstandard indemnification and liability provisions; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services or designee to sign up to three amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($4,000) of the amended contract amount, do not significantly change the scope of work, and do not exceed the maximum aggregate amount of $44,000.

RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services or designee to sign an agreement with Honeywell International Inc. for preventative maintenance, repair and maintenance services for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) equipment and systems and Honeywell Enterprise Building Integrator (EBI) equipment and systems for Monterey County Department of Social Services 1281 Broadway, Seaside facility for the period of March 1, 2026 through February 28, 2027, in the amount of $40,000 including nonstandard indemnification and liability provisions; and
b. SUMMARY:
This agreement is for preventative maintenance, repair and maintenance services for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) equipment and systems and Honeywell Enterprise Building Integrator (EBI) equipment and systems for Monterey County Department of Social Services (DSS) 1281 Broadway, Seaside facility.
DISCUSSION:
DSS works with Monterey County Public Works, Facilities and Parks (PWFP) to complete and assess the HVAC needs for the building.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT/COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Office of County Counsel has reviewed and approved the Agreements as to form but not as to risk, as has the Auditor-Controller’s Office as to financial provisions. PWFP has reviewed and approved the agreement and have an agreement with this same vendor.
FINANCING:
This agreement is funded with 85% Federal and State revenues and 15% Realignment funds. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues for SOC005 are included in the FY 2025-26 Adopted Budget and FY 2026-27 appropriations and revenues will be included in the corresponding budget process.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC PLAN GOALS:
This agreement correlates to the Sustainable Infrastructure for the Present and Future Plan Goal adopted by the Board of Supervisors by providing tools and services designed to maintain county facilities safe and up to code.
