RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:

Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or designee to execute Amendment No. 2 to non-Standard Agreement A-16758 with Infinite Diversity, LLC for training and consultation services to extend the term for one (1) additional Fiscal Year and add $80,000 of additional services, for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $120,000 for a revised new term of March 22, 2024 through June 30, 2026.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Infinite Diversity, LLC provides training and consultation in LGBTQ+ issues. Kelsey Pacha, founder of Infinite Diversity, LLC, has a unique perspective and skill set valuable in training professionals to support LGBTQ+ youth, and is an experienced presenter who speaks nationally on a range of LGBTQ+ topics. Kelsey Pacha’s trainings have provided excellent tools and support to Monterey County staff to work more effectively with families in supporting their LGBTQ youth who are experiencing suicidal ideation and suicide attempts due to feelings of rejection and lack of acceptance by family/parental religious beliefs. This Amendment No. 2 revises the total agreement amount to increase training and consultation services to better understand and support the needs of LGBTQ+ individuals and their support systems living in Monterey County.

This work supports the County of Monterey Health Department 2025-2028 Strategic Plan Goal(s): 2. Provide Exceptional Person-Centered Care through Accessible, Community-Focused Health Services.  It also supports one of the ten essential public health services, specifically 7. Link people to needed personal health services and assure the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The Office of the County Counsel and Auditor-Controller have reviewed and approved this Amendment No. 2 as to legal form and fiscal provisions, respectively. Risk Management has not approved due to non-standard insurance provisions.
