a. Approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or his designee to sign a standard services agreement with Miller Event Management, Inc. to provide event security services to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca from October 15, 2020 through December 31, 2021, for an amount not to exceed $275,000; and
b. Approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or his designee to execute up to three (3) future amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($27,500) of the agreement amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or his designee to sign a standard services agreement with Miller Event Management, Inc. to provide event security services to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca from October 15, 2020 through December 31, 2021, for an amount not to exceed $275,000; and
b. Approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or his designee to execute up to three (3) future amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($27,500) of the agreement amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This request supports the use of Miller Event Management, Inc. for event security services at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca (WRLS). Miller Event Management, Inc., will provide additional security detail that may be required for the remaining 2020 race events, as well as those scheduled for 2021. Staffing will be based on actual projected attendance, if and when allowed, and will be determined by Laguna Seca Raceway Management. All Miller Event Management employees are registered with the Bureau of Security & Investigative Services and will provide the professional security service required and expected at Laguna Seca Raceway and WRLS. Due to the size of the events, as well as the overall park, additional security is required to ensure the safety and security for all concerned.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of County Counsel has reviewed and approved the agreement as to form.
FINANCING:
The contract with Miller Event Management, Inc. will be funded through Fund 453 Laguna Seca Budget Unit 8536. Funding for the Agreement is included in the FY 2020-2021 approved budget. Approval of the recommended action will have no additional impact on the County General Fund.
