RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute the Professional Services Agreement with Go Kids, Inc. for the provision of physician and consultative services at Go Kids, Inc. for the period August 1, 2017 to June 30, 2021.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Go Kids, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing early screening, assessment and intervention services for special needs children, and early childhood professional development support and educational services to families with young children in Monterey County. Go Kids desires the medical expertise and consultation services of Mary Coleman, MD, MPH, a developmental and behavioral pediatrician employed by Natividad Medical Center, as part of the Integrated Service Collaborative for the First 5 Monterey County (F5MC). Working with F5MC, as well as other community service providers, Dr. Coleman will support the provision of cohesive, coordinated, comprehensive care and support of children ages pre-natal through five and their families in F5MC priority zip codes 93901, 93906 and 93905. Go Kids will reimburse NMC the cost of the employee rendering services, there is no cost to this Agreement.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Agreement as to legal form and risk provisions. Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved this Agreement as to fiscal provisions. The Agreement has also been reviewed and approved by Natividad Medical Center’s Finance Committee on June 22, 2017 and Board of Trustees on July 7, 2017.
FINANCING:
There is no cost for this Agreement. There is no impact to the General Fund.
