RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Receive the certified Statement of Votes Cast and declare final the results of the September 14, 2021 California Gubernatorial Recall Election as set forth in the attached documents.
SUMMARY:
The Elections Department requests the Board of Supervisors receive the Statement of Votes Cast at the September 14, 2021 California Gubernatorial Recall Election within Monterey County, as certified by the Registrar of Voters.
DISCUSSION:
In accordance with Elections Code sections 11328 and 15372, the Registrar of Voters is submitting the certified Statement of Votes Cast to your Board. Pursuant to Elections Code section 15374, the Statement of Votes shows:
• the total number of ballots cast;
• the number of votes cast at each precinct for each candidate and for and against each measure;
• the total number of votes cast for each candidate and for and against each measure;
• the total number of votes cast in each city, assembly district, congressional district, senatorial district, State Board of Equalization district, and supervisorial district located in whole or in part in the county, for each office and proposition voted on within the state.
This Statement of Votes Cast also reports vote by mail results by each voting precinct.
The Elections Department will also file a certified Statement of Votes Cast with the California Secretary of State who shall compile the statements of all 58 counties and certify the statewide results.
Copies of the September 14, 2021 Final Summary Report and Statement of Votes Cast are on file with the Clerk of the Board and available online at www.MontereyCountyElections.us.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel reviewed and approved the recommendation.
FINANCING:
There will be no additional cost to the County General Fund associated with this recommendation.
