a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign Amendment No. 1 to Agreement #5010-177 with the Alisal Union School District to provide congregate meals to seniors in Salinas by adding $18,426 for a revised total Agreement amount of $103,426; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to the agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($10,342) of the contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign Amendment No. 1 to Agreement #5010-177 with the Alisal Union School District to provide congregate meals to seniors in Salinas by adding $18,426 for a revised total Agreement amount of $103,426; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to the agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($10,342) of the contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This amendment adds $18,426, to the existing agreement with the Alisal Union School District for the provision of congregate meals to seniors living in the Salinas area. This increase in the contract total is due to an increase in federal funding through the California Department of Aging.
Meals at group dining locations are currently offered in accordance with safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic and practices may change as needed. The meals meet all the requirements of the Older Americans Act, State/local laws and dietary guidelines for older residents. Meals also follow the Nutrition Services Incentive Program (NSIP) requirements.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Auditor-Controller and Purchasing have reviewed and approved this Agreement. County Counsel has approved the Agreement as to form.
FINANCING:
Funding is provided by the Older Americans Act. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues in SOC010 are included in the FY 2021-22 Adopted Budget.
