Appointed Claude Hoover as Director to the Monterey County Water Resources Agency
from nominees submitted by the Monterey County Farm Bureau.

SUBJECT: Consider appointment of one Director to the Monterey County
Water Resources Agency from nominees submitted by the
Monterey County Farm Bureau.

RECOMMENDATION:
Consider appointment of one Director to the Monterey County Water Resources Agency
from nominees submitted by the Monterey County Farm Bureau.
SUMMARY:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors appoint one Director from a list of two
nominees provided by the Monterey County Farm Bureau: Claude Hoover or David Bunn,
with a term ending December 31, 2014.
DISCUSSION:
A letter dated November 5, 2010 from the Monterey County Farm Bureau was submitted to
Chair Simon Salinas advising of two nominees for consideration of appointment to the
Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Directors.
Monterey County Water Resources Agency Act, in Sections 48 and 49, specify the number,
appointment and qualifications of the agency Board of Directors. In Section 49 b) 1), the
Act specifies that:
b) Four directors shall be appointed by the majority vote of the Supervisors from
nominees submitted by the following groups or organizations:
1) One Director from a list of two nominees provided by the Monterey County Farm
Bureau, who has a background in agricultural production.
On October 14, 2010, the Monterey County Farm Bureau Board of Directors met and
passed a Resolution proposing the above referenced names for consideration as their
representative to the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Directors.

The Monterey County Water Resources Agency has been advised of this request
