Title

Approve and authorize the County Purchasing Agent or designee to execute Amendment No. 2 to Agreement A-16884 with Ecology Action for continued participation in the Central Coast Community Action Campaign, extending the term through December 31, 2027, and increasing the contract amount by $40,500 for a revised contract maximum of $82,000 with no change to the contract term or scope of services.

Report

RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors Approve and authorize the County Purchasing Agent or designee to execute Amendment No. 2 to Agreement A-16884 with Ecology Action, for continued participation in the Central Coast Community Action Campaign, extending the term through December 31, 2027, and increasing the contract amount by $40,500 for a revised contract maximum of $82,000 with no change to the contract term or scope of services.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The County of Monterey retained Ecology Action for continued participation in the Central Coast Community Action Campaign.  The original agreement was effective May 26, 2022 through May 26, 2023, with a not-to-exceed amount of $13,500.

In May 2024, the Board approved Renewal and Amendment No. 1, extending the agreement term through December 31, 2026, and increasing the contract by $28,000, resulting in a revised not-to-exceed amount of $41,500.  Board direction further authorized staff to execute up to three future amendments, provided that such amendments did not: 1) materially change contractor responsibilities, 2) increase the contract by more than 10 percent ($4,150), and 3) increase the total not-to-exceed amount beyond $45,650.

Amendment No. 2 proposes to extend the contract term through December 31, 2027 and increase the contract amount by $40,500, resulting in a new not-to-exceed total of $82,000.  Because this amount exceeds the maximum previously authorized under delegated authority, Board approval is required.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT/COMMITTEE ACTIONS:

The Office of the County Counsel has reviewed and approved the proposed amendment as to form.

FINANCING:

Approval of Amendment No. 2 will increase the contract by $40,500 for a total not-to-exceed amount of $82,000. Funding is included in the FY 2026-27 adopted budget.
