SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The purpose of this agreement is to establish a Bringing Families Home Program (BFH) in Monterey County.  The BFH program will provide rapid rehousing services to Monterey County families who are receiving child welfare services and who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.  The core service components of BFH are housing-related case management, housing navigation, housing-related direct financial assistance, and housing stabilization.  It is anticipated that the BFH program in Monterey County will be able to serve approximately 20 families per fiscal year.  The goal of BFH is to improve timeliness to reunification for families who have open Juvenile Dependency cases and prevent Monterey County children from entering the foster care system.
