RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Consider a further continuance of the public hearing on the proposed amendments to the 2010 Monterey County General Plan (“General Plan”) that would implement a settlement of litigation regarding the General Plan.
SUMMARY:
On May 12, 2015 the Board of Supervisor’s considered proposed amendments to the 2010 General Plan the adoption of which would implement settlement agreements concerning the two remaining lawsuits challenging the 2010 General Plan. At that time the Board opened the public hearing and received public testimony, but took no action and continued the item to September 29, 2015, with the direction that staff attempt to resolve objections that interested parties and stakeholders expressed regarding the proposed amendments.
Staff has consulted with a number of the interested parties and stakeholders, but as of this date discussions have not been concluded. It is therefore recommended that the matter be continued to November 10, 2015, for further Board consideration.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The County Counsel’s Office and the Resource Management Agency concur in the recommendation.

There is no financing action associated with the continuance.
