A RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF THE RETIREMENT
OF RONALD J. STEFANI FROM THE NORTH COUNTY FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT OF MONTEREY COUNTY UPON MANY
YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE.
WHEREAS, Ronald J. Stefani is an employee of the North County Fire Pr(
Monterey County, a public agency dedicated to the protection of life and pr
fire and other emergency situations; and,
WHEREAS, Ronald J. Stefani, has provided thirty-eight 38) years of service
community in multiple capacities beginning in 1970 as a Volunteer Firefighte
status in 1976 as a Firefighter; promoted to Fire Lieutenant in 1978; promote(
1987; and finally promoted to Division Chief in 1989 in which he serv

WHEREAS, Ronald J. Stefani has experienced many memorable out-of-county moments
throughout his fire service career some of which chronologically include he Lexington Fire
1985), the Loma Prieta Earthquake 1989), Malibu Fire 1993), Pajaro/Cast oville Floods 1993
& 1995), Winter Storms 1997 & 1998), Hi-Roberts Fire 2002), Day Fire 2006), Witch Fire
2007), and,
WHEREAS, Ronald J. Stefani has experienced many unforgettable local incid nts, which include
the Moss Landing Power Plant Oil Tank Fire, the Cypress Recycling Center ox Fire, Randozzo
Recycling Box Fire, and the Sanchez Street Apartment Fire; and,
WHEREAS, Ronald J. Stefani was a vital component to instruction and tra" ing of firefighters
whose contribution list includes the Wildland Fire School, Chairman of Tri County Hazardous
Materials Advisory Council, Incident Command System Instructor, Fire Science Instructor for
Monterey Peninsula, Hartnell Community, and Cabrillo Community College
WHEREAS, Ronald J. Stefani, serving as an advocate of community service his taken on the role
on director for multiple Boards to wit: North County Recreation District, C stroville Coalition,
Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency, Castroville Community Services District,
Redevelopment Agency Citizens Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, Ronald J. Stefani has received numerous accolades from loca civic groups and
specifically honored as North County Fire District's Employee of the Year 2004, LULAC's Man
of the Year, LULAC's Firefighter of the Year, and North County Chamber of Commerce's Man of
the Year; and,

WHEREAS, Ronald J. Stefani will retire from the North County Fire Protection District of
Monterey County but his many contributions will continue to ensure the safety of the
community well into the future.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Monterey County Board of Supervisors
hereby expresses its great appreciation to Ronald J. Stefani for his dedicated and distinguished
service to all the citizens of this County, especially those who reside within the North County
Fire Protection District of Monterey County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Monterey County Board of Supervisors extends its
congratulations to Ronald J. Stefani, as evidenced by the individual signatures of the Board
members on this Resolution, in honor of his retirement from the North County Fire Protection
District of Monterey County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 24"' day of June, 2008, upon motion of Supervisor Calcagno,
seconded by Supervisor Salinas, by the following vote, to-wit:
