RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the use of the participant lease agreement template for the County of Monterey Health Department, Behavioral Health Bureau’s Hope Housing Program, a behavioral health bridge housing program retroactive to August 26, 2024.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County of Monterey Health Department, Behavioral Health Bureau (BHB), was awarded and accepted the County’s state apportioned grant amount from the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) for the implementation of behavioral health bridge housing known as the Hope Housing program here in Monterey County.
Sun Street Centers will provide housing services and will partner with Interim, Inc. to provide additional behavioral health services. The property used for this program is a Housing Authority County of Monterey (HACM) owned property, which requires a lease agreement with participants. BHB in collaboration with County Counsel created this lease agreement to be used between the participant and BHB, in collaboration with HACM.
This work supports the following County of Monterey Health Department 2018-2024 Strategic Plan Goal(s): 3) Ensure access to culturally and linguistically appropriate, customer-friendly, quality health services. It also supports one of the ten essential public health services, specifically: 7) Link people to needed personal health services and assure the provisions of health care when otherwise unavailable.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel-Risk Management has reviewed and approved as to legal form.
FINANCING:
Approval of this lease agreement template is at no cost. There is no impact to the County General Funds.
