Authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute and record the Notice of Completion for the Replacement Of Bridge On Sandholdt Road Over Moss Landing Slough, State Bridge No. 44C-0108, County Bridge No. 112, Federal-Aid Project No. STPLZ-5944 (034), Project No. 05-220465, performed by Golden State Bridge Inc.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors adopt a Resolution:
a. Accepting the Certificate of Completion for the construction of the Replacement Of Bridge On Sandholdt Road Over Moss Landing Slough, State Bridge No. 44C-0108, County Bridge No. 112, Federal-Aid Project No. STPLZ-5944 (034), Project No. 05-220465, performed by Golden State Bridge Inc.; and
b. Authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute and record the Notice of Completion for the Replacement Of Bridge On Sandholdt Road Over Moss Landing Slough, State Bridge No. 44C-0108, County Bridge No. 112, Federal-Aid Project No. STPLZ-5944 (034), Project No. 05-220465, performed by Golden State Bridge Inc.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On May 10, 2005, the Board of Supervisors awarded a contract to Golden State Bridge, Inc. for the construction of the Replacement Of Bridge On Sandholdt Road Over Moss Landing Slough, State Bridge No. 44C-0108, County Bridge No. 112, Federal-Aid Project No. STPLZ-5944 (034), Project No. 05-220465 (Project). The Project consisted of a bridge replacement since it was found to be seismically deficient and was scheduled for replacement with a wider two-lane bridge immediately south of the existing bridge, and a five-year Plant Establishment period. The contract is now complete in all respects in accordance with the Plans and Special Provisions. The work is ready to be accepted by the Board of Supervisors.

FINANCING:
There is no impact to the General Fund. The total project cost, including engineering, environmental, and construction, is $7,645,727. The project was financed from a variety of Federal, State and Local funds which included: Federal Highway Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Funds (74%) $5,658,482; State Seismic Funds (13.4%) $1,026,115; Regional Surface Transportation Program grant funds (7%) $535,000, Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (3.9%) $300,000, Moss Landing Marine Labs (0.6%) $49,650, and ATT (1%) $76,480 for a total amount of $7,645,727.
