Ratify and authorize execution by the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) of a five year lease agreement with Denise Carattini dba Kids at Play Children's Center ("Lease Agreement"), with a retroactive start date of November 1, 2014 and a term through and including October 31, 2019, for 4,000 square feet of space located at 1441 Constitution Boulevard, Building No. 151, Suite D, Salinas, California, for use as a child care center on the Natividad Medical Center campus at the monthly rate of $3,000.00, subject to an annual rent adjustment of three percent.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Ratify and authorize execution by the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) of a five year lease agreement with Denise Carattini dba Kids at Play Children's Center ("Lease Agreement"), with a retroactive start date of November 1, 2014 and a term through and including October 31, 2019, for 4,000 square feet of space located at 1441 Constitution Boulevard, Building No. 151, Suite D, Salinas, California, for use as a child care center on the Natividad Medical Center campus at the monthly rate of $3,000.00, subject to an annual rent adjustment of three percent.
SUMMARY & DISCUSSION:
Child Care Services have been provided by Kids at Play located at Building #151 on the Natividad Medical Center campus since 2005. This County approved provider continues to serve the children's of County employees as well as other families from the community through their staff of more than 12 full time experienced individuals. The vendor provides child care services Monday through Friday during normal working hours and also extended hours are available for staffs that end their shifts during the early evening hours.
Natividad Medical Center will continue to provide regular and preventive maintenance for certain approved items according to the lease agreement.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this lease as to legal form and risk provisions, and Natividad Medical Center has reviewed and approved as to payment provisions. The Agreement has also been reviewed and approved by NMC's Finance Committee on April 23, 2015 and by its Board of Trustees on May 1, 2015.
FINANCING:
There is no impact to the General Fund.
